What order should I set up a boat in?

Add engines first (Boat Set-Up → Engines), then generators, then crew using their personal email addresses so access can be revoked individually. Then add safety equipment with expiry dates, record engine hours through the pre-sail checklist, and finally enter or send us your past service history.

Can you import my existing maintenance history?

Yes. Email us a spreadsheet or export from your previous system and we will load it for you. We have migrated fleets with over ten years of history.

Do I need to install anything?

No. iVessel runs in the browser on any computer. For phones and tablets there are iOS and Android apps, which also work offline.

How many users can I add?

Accepted Answer

Unlimited. Crew, owners, brokers, engineers, contractors and warranty partners — each with a different level of access. Warranty users, for example, only see issues marked as warranty.

With several boats, who sees what?

The administrator controls access. Captains see their own boat by default; access to further boats is granted per person.

Yes. Captains can invite users to their boat and can see billing only for their own boats.

Can I hide pages a role doesn't need?

Yes. Page visibility is set per role and can be adjusted per person, so a deckhand's app shows only what they use.

Does iVessel work offline?

Yes. The app keeps a read pack of your boat on the phone. Issues, services, photos and checklists you log without signal are queued and sync automatically when you are back online.

How does Ask AI work?

Accepted Answer

Ask questions in plain English about your own boats — 'what services are overdue on Ocean Vibes?', 'when does the liferaft expire?'. It answers from your maintenance history, inventory, documents and indexed manuals. It only reads; it never changes your records, and it can be switched off per company.

How do I close a completed issue?

Set its status to Closed. It moves out of the open list into closed issues and stays in the history.

Can I make a recurring job?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create a to-do, turn on Repeats and set the interval. When it is completed it rolls forward to the next due date. Templates push the same job to several boats at once.

Do MCA / MECAL surveyors accept iVessel electronic records?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Digital logs are more secure than paper and every record can be printed if a surveyor prefers a paper copy.

Does iVessel handle MLC 2006 rest hours?

Yes. Crew log rest and work periods daily; each day is checked against the six MLC rest-hour rules and the monthly record sheet can be exported as a PDF.

$35 per boat per month, or $27 per boat per month from 3 boats. Unlimited users. Your first boat is free for 30 days with no card required.

Why can't I add issues or edit boat info?

Accepted Answer

A failed payment puts the boat into view-only after a 7-day grace period. Check Subscriptions in the app; data entry resumes as soon as billing is restored.

How do I cancel?

Per boat, at any time, from Subscriptions. It takes effect at the end of the paid month and your data is kept.

Where is my data stored?

In Supabase's infrastructure on AWS in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with daily backups. A dedicated regional deployment (for example Australia) is available for organisations that need data to stay onshore.

Is there two-factor authentication?

Yes. Authenticator-app MFA is available to every user and can be made mandatory across a whole company by its administrator.

Who can see my boat's data?

Only people you have given access to. Data is isolated per company and per boat at the database level. iVessel staff access data only for support, at your request.
